Doris Tufte:

excerpt: Doris had many outside interests including book clubs, bridge, and knitting. She knit Irish Fisherman sweaters for all of her family and many hats for donations to charity. She developed a great love for loom weaving and became an accomplished weaver, winning several blue ribbons at the Minnesota State Fair. She was a member of the Weavers Guild and also enjoyed membership in smaller groups of dedicated weavers. Doris also enjoyed spending time on the North Shore of Lake Superior every summer. This started as a child with her family and continued almost every year of her life. Her last visit was in June. Since 1994, Doris has been spending winters in Green Valley, Arizona, and summers in Prior Lake. In the summer, the Prior Lake home becomes the center of family activities. She thoroughly enjoyed being out of doors and going out on the lake in the pontoon with family members and friends. In Green Valley, she was a member of the Valley Fiber Art Guild and enjoyed weaving and walking in the mountains. A celebration of Doris’s life will be held on April 5, 2019, at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church in Prior Lake, Minnesota, with visitation starting at 10:30 AM and the service beginning at 11:00AM.
