Textile Center Auditorium
Program: Vesterheim’s 2017 Textile Study Tour focused on the textiles and traditions of southern Norway and Denmark. Participants learned about weaving, knitting, embroidery, folk costumes, spinning, sheep, mid-century design, and contemporary design. Following the tour, several lucky Minnesotans traveled on to Sweden for a week-long Swedish Art Weaves course. Robbie LaFleur and Melba Granlund will share their experiences. See inspiring photos of Scandinavian textile treasures from museums, artists’ studios, and shops in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, in addition to a Swedish classroom.
