Construction Update (2/17/12)

Utility work may make it tricky to enter the building from the front door, especially if you parked behind the Textile Center. You can ring the bell at the back door, and someone will let you inside shortly.

There is no parking in front of the Textile Center on University Ave. However, you may still park on the north side of University, or a couple of blocks west of the Textile Center on the south side of University.

Parking at the Textile Center

There are many spots available, all free, and within a short walking distance.

Safety

  • Prospect Park Neighborhood, where the Textile Center and WGM are located, is the most established community in the metropolitan area. Within walking distance of our building, there is an elementary school that is also a venue for adult learning, as well as a community church. The neighbors are proactive when it comes to safety. The sidewalks are clear and well lit.
  • As good general practice in an urban environment, do not leave valuables in your vehicle. Do not leave purses, backpacks, briefcases within visible sight inside your vehicle.
  • Stay aware of your surroundings. Don’t be distracted with electronic devices.
