Thank you to everyone who has already dropped off donations for the first (and only) UnAnnual Auction. More than thirty of you have donated nearly 100 items–a fantastic turnout for our spring fundraiser. We are looking forward to photographing and putting the items online for bidding April 24-May 2. It is a pleasure to have these items represent our guild.
We have received a fantastic variety of items showcasing what the Weavers Guild of Minnesota is about–the arts of spinning, dyeing and weaving. Some of the pieces you’ll see in the auction include:
  • a skein of yarn spun from reclaimed materials
  • shibori dyed silk scarves
  • a handwoven shawl from a self-identified “hobby” weaver
  • an online course helping you improve your Etsy page
  • handmade wooden boat shuttles
  • rep weave rugs from a master weaver
  • and more!
In order to ensure the auction’s success, we have extended the deadline to donate and drop off items through Friday April 2 (less than two weeks away!).
If you have not already, I ask each of you to consider donating to support our guild. As I was in my basement sanding wooden shuttles for my donation, I reflected on how the spring auction went from a thread of an idea to reality in just a few months. As a new member of WGM (and the incoming Board President), I personally cannot wait to see and bid on items made by all of you.
Please consider this opportunity to show off your creativity while supporting WGM. Donations will by accepted by appointment through April 2.
Please contact Kala Exworthy ( to schedule a time to drop off your item(s) at the Northrup King building. Prior to drop off, complete a submission form for each item on our auction page here. Other questions can be directed to:
I look forward to seeing your colorful and creative works!
