“Vanishing Fleece” by Clara Parkes
Join us for our summer book club meeting. Led by guild librarian Mary Skoy, this is an informal opportunity for members to talk about textiles and get to know one another better. Who doesn’t love a good textile book and the conversation that it sparks? We’ll be discussin Vanishing Fleece: Adventures in American Wool by Clara Parkes. Book info: A fast-paced account of the year Clara Parkes spent transforming a 676-pound bale of fleece into saleable yarn, and the people and vanishing industry she discovered along the way.
Attendees: Choose a quote from the book that you found interesting and would like to share with the group. Is there an event from your experience that illustrates something the author learned or wrote about? Please bring it to the meeting to augment the conversation.
Everyone is welcome. No RSVP needed; email your questions to Mary Skoy.
The Zoom info and link will be published in the June 2 & 16 Draft and will not require pre-registration. We look forward to seeing you!
