For those of you who have not seen the Facebook and blog posts and aren’t aware of the upcoming exhibit at Norway House, “Traditional Norwegian Weaving: American Reboot,” mark your calendars!  The exhibit will be up from July 20-September 10, and the smashing opening will be from 5-8 on Thursday, July 20. Full information here: https://scandinavianweaversmn.com. The Scandinavian Weavers blog also has many posts about individual pieces in the exhibit, too.  There is also information on the Norway House site: http://norwayhouse.org.

Note that there is wonderful programming in connection with the exhibit.  There will be a gallery talks on July 23 by Jan Mostrom and August 13 by Robbie LaFleur.  Jan and Robbie would also be happy to give another tour if you have a group of people you would like to attend on a different day.

There are weaving demonstrations on Wednesdays and Sundays from 12-3.  Jan Mostrom has a narrow rutevev (or square weave) runner set up.  It will be fun for visitors to see the large rutevev pieces in the exhibit and then to see the technique being woven.

We’d love to make this the most popular and successful Norway House and Weavers Guild exhibit ever.  Bring your friends! Members of the Weavers Guild will receive free admission; just tell the gallery staff person.  Admission for others is $5.00.

Plan to check out this extensive exhibit of 40 pieces.  Come to the opening! And check out the tempting photos and information about pieces in the exhibit at https://scandinavianweaversmn.com.
